The Importance of a Wedding Room Reveal

Room reveals are our favorite. Not only is it our favorite as the planner and/or designer, but it’s one of our couples most appreciated moments. Room reveals are intimate, and it is a time where you and your significant other are able to see your wedding reception space before your guests arrive. You are able to see your beautiful vision come to fruition and the amazing work of all of your professional vendors. It's a moment filled with so much anticipation and excitement from your planning and design team and also from you.

After months and sometimes years of planning your wedding with your vendor team we get to know each other on a personal level. We learn which things you like best, what you don't like, and what brings you total joy. Our focus on your wedding day is to create an entire day that's solely prioritized around your happiness that we can't wait to enjoy the reveal with you to see your emotions: your tears, your laughs, and your screams of pure joy.

Often time we spend an entire day or more physically on site creating the wedding of your dreams and once the design is executed, we want you to have time to enjoy all of the details from your sweetheart table area, the florals, your wedding day stationary, the decor, cake, and so much more.

It is so important to allow time for you, as the couple, to have a room reveal. Here are a couple of facts and tips:

How long does a room reveal take?

Room reveals typically take about 15 minutes. If you plan on doing a first look, that time can even be extended based on the planner’s timeline. If you do not plan to do a first look, room reveals can be done while the guest is in cocktail hour.

How to make the most of your reception reveal?

  • Use this time to thoroughly walk through your wedding reception unrushed and fully taking in the joyous moment.

  • Be sure your photographer captures beautiful, detailed images of your decor and with you and your partner in the reception space.

  • Allow enough time for the reception space to be available for view. Typically, vendors are fully setup 60 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.

Here are some of our favorite moments captured in our previous room reveals. Our goal is always a ton of happy tears and hugs. Schedule a consultation with us to discuss how we can create a memorable and glamorous wedding day for you and your guest.
